Monique Bassey

Monique Bassey is the 2021-2022 Marie M. Bickham Chair in the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University. Monique teaches both graduate and undergraduate design studios with a focus on environmental and social justice as well as landscape technology courses on grading, and materials and methods. She serves on the ASLA Northern California Chapter Executive Committee as the President-Elect and Chair of the  CA Chapter’s Emerging Professionals and Student Chapter Committee. Monique holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona.  She has been active in the Black Landscape Architects Network (BlackLAN) and was co-organizer of the 2020 BlackLAN Black History Month Symposium.
